Hometown Coloring Book (“Hometown Coloring Book,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and the related print and digital coloring book services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the site or our services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly and information collected automatically.
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password (handled by our authentication provider), and account preferences.
- Business and sponsor information: business name, contact name, email, phone, mailing address, website, zone preferences, and any creative content or instructions you submit for your coloring page.
- Family / recipient information: name, mailing address, and delivery preferences submitted to receive a coloring book.
- Payment information: billing details and card information are submitted directly to our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we receive a transaction reference and limited metadata (such as the last four digits and brand of the card) from Stripe.
- Communications: messages you send to support or in forms on the site.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies used for authentication and basic site functionality. We may add limited analytics cookies in the future; if we do, this policy will be updated.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you on the site.
- To process sponsorships, payments, refunds, and other transactions.
- To produce, print, and distribute coloring books, including generating coloring page artwork, preparing print files, and coordinating with printers and distributors.
- To communicate about orders, proofs, edition status, and customer support.
- To send service announcements and, where permitted, occasional updates about new editions or zones. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.
- To prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the site and our services.
3. How we share information
We share information only as described below.
- Service providers. We use trusted third parties to run the service. They process information on our behalf and are contractually limited to that purpose. Current providers include:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Clerk — authentication and account management
- Convex — database and backend infrastructure
- Netlify — website hosting
- Google (Gemini API) — AI-assisted coloring page generation
- Printers and mail/distribution partners — book production and delivery
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hometown Coloring Book, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent. Any other sharing will be done with your permission.
4. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal and tax obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and reliance on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, and deletion. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax or fraud-prevention reasons).
- Marketing emails. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email. Transactional messages (order confirmations, receipts, proofs) will continue.
- Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect site functionality, including login.
- State-specific rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
7. Children
The site is intended for adults (18+) running businesses or arranging family deliveries. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International users
Hometown Coloring Book is operated from the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the site, you understand that your information may be processed in jurisdictions with data-protection laws different from those of your country.

The site may link to third-party websites (sponsor websites, social media, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before providing information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “Effective” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
